Days Six and Seven

1/27/11

Today was a completely normal day of classes at school. Nothing out of the ordinary happened today!

1/28/11

Today was all regular classes until lunch, which was shortened because of our afternoon adventures. We had our regular afternoon classes and then walked over to congressional building where representatives from all different states have their offices. We met with Robert Bacon, Tim Ryan’s (D-OHIO!) assistant and did a mock lobbying project for them where we presented our ideas about how to solve climate change in China. Then we met with Andrew Brandt, Randy Neugebauer’s (R-Texas) assistant. It was really cool to lobby to them because they gave the people who spoke criticism and good comments about their lobbying, and they thought we did pretty well for our first time! Especially having only 2 days to prepare for our presentations. Then we came home and just hung out for a while before dinner. At about 9ish, we all went to Good Stuff Eatery, this awesome burger and shakes place, owned by Spike from Top Chef, and got shakes and hung out at the restaurant. We came back home and al went to bed fairly early because of the day’s activities. It was a really interesting day!
